Testimonials

“Serving as a mentor with the MVP Program was the cherry on top for an incredibly exciting journey at UTSC! None of us really know all the answers to life’s deepest questions, but the opportunity to play the role of catalyst for a mentee(s) goes above that. The challenge of trying to guide my mentees while my own path was unclear, was intriguing, and made for a strong two-way relationship. In the process, I loved that I had the chance to build friendships with my mentees, other mentees, and other mentors too!”

– Vivekan Jeyagaran

MVP Mentor of the Year 2015-16

“‘I am attending the University of Toronto.’ Sounds daunting. ‘MVP is here to support and guide me.’ With these magic words, I can suddenly manage. Through MVP, I gained insight from caring, experienced upper-year students, and a support system that I could rely on indefinitely. A year later, the effects of my MVP experience are still prevalent; especially in the way I support other students, stay involved, and make decisions. MVP is not only a club and a family – it is so much more.”

– Sunil Sookdeo

MVP Mentee of the Year 2015-16

“To me, becoming a mentor with the MVP Program was a rewarding experience. I met my amazing mentees which I consider to be some of my close friends now. MVP offered so many fun activities and games for all of us to bond over. I can say for sure that being a part of the MVP family is something I will never regret.”

– Nikesh Kadawathage

MVP Mentor of the Year 2016-17

“Joining a mentorship program in my first year at university was incredibly rewarding. The MVP Mentorship Program works to ensure that mentees flourish into the best version of themselves. My mentor guided me in the right direction in a time where it is typically easy to fall off-track. Her advice and insight enabled me to strategically manage both my academics and extracurriculars.”

– Alison Ramsundar
